Authorities have imposed Section 144 in Karachi, Hyderabad and Chakwal to maintain law and order on the eve of New Year.
In Karachi, authorities have imposed a ban on pillion riding on motorcycles, carrying and displaying weapons to ensure public safety.
In Hyderabad, the divisional commissioner, acting on recommendations from the DIG police, issued a notification imposing a complete ban on fireworks, aerial firing and display of weapons.
Instructions have also been issued to register cases and take legal action against violators.
In Chakwal, Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat said that Section 144 will remain in effect until January 1, during which one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without silencers, fireworks and aerial firing will remain prohibited.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to follow rules to ensure a safe and peaceful environment during New Year celebrations.
