Popular actors Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly star in the Pakistani writer Umera Ahmed’s web series ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’, which has now been released on YouTube.
Originally premiered in 2021 on the Indian streaming platform Zee5’s channel ‘Zindagi’, the web series has now also been made available on ‘Zindagi’s’ official YouTube channel.
The first episode was released on YouTube on November 4, and within just a few hours, it was watched by thousands of viewers.
In the web series, Ahad Raza Mir plays an Indian character, while Sajal Aly portrays a Pakistani girl. Both belong to military families.
The series attempts to highlight the suffering of families of soldiers martyred due to India’s violations of the Line of Control (LoC) and its atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Set against the backdrop of India’s oppression in occupied Kashmir and the 2019 Pulwama attack, *Dhoop Ki Deewar* faced controversy upon its original release in 2021, with viewers criticizing the writer and the production team.
The web series is written by renowned Pakistani novelist and screenwriter Umera Ahmed and directed by Haseeb Hasan.
The cast includes Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Manzar Sehbai, Zaib Rehman, Samina Ahmed, Samia Mumtaz, Savera Nadeem, and Zara Tareen, among others.
Although ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ was filmed entirely in Pakistan and its cast, writer, and director are all Pakistani, it was produced for an Indian streaming platform and has now been released on YouTube as well.
