Pakistani actress Sonya Hussain has made her mark on the international stage by winning the “Best Actor Award” at the at the Eurasian Open Award “Diamond Butterfly” ceremony held in Moscow.
received the accolade for her exceptional performance in the critically acclaimed Pakistani film “Deemak”.
Sonya also celebrated the achievement on social media platform, Instagram. Sharing photos from the event, she wrote: “DEEMAK rises again”.
“Honoured with Best Actor Award at the Eurasia Russian Film Festival among 35 films from across the world,” she added.
“This moment is bigger than an award. It’s proof that when a dream is carried with honesty, hunger, and heart… it finds its way home.
“To every young girl in Pakistan who wonders if her voice matters this win is yours,” she wrote.
She extended gratitude to the Russian government, the Federation, the festival jury and founder Mr. Nikita for embracing Deemak, and to the Government of Pakistan for facilitating.
“Tonight, Pakistan didn’t just win an award. Pakistan was seen,” she concluded.
Another Pakistani film “Love Guru” was also among the two films which competed for top honors at the global event.
Hussain, who is known for her versatile acting, captivated the international jury with her portrayal in “Deemak”. The film’s raw emotional depth and her ability to embody her character’s complexities were praised by critics and judges alike.
