YouTuber Rajab Butt’s mother has issued a clarification over the allegations of her son’s alcohol consumption.
According to reports, a few days ago a chat of Rajab Butt went viral in which he was heard using inappropriate words with his friends while allegedly being intoxicated.
After the chat spread on social media and drew heavy criticism, Rajab Butt’s mother released a statement addressing her son’s behaviour.
She stated that Rajab Butt was “not drunk,” but under the influence of medication. She explained that her son often suffers from sinus, throat, and flu issues during winter and takes medicines that can cause drowsiness.
She added that when she is with him, she uses “natural remedies” such as warm water and herbal tea, but since she is abroad, he had to rely on medicines.
Citing religious and cultural values, she said, “Alcohol is forbidden in our culture and religion.”
She also noted that because he lives in a country where drinking is common, people are making assumptions based on that.
