Pakistan has launched a new online passport verification system, enabling fingerprint authentication for passport applicants.
The Director General of Immigration and Passports has introduced the new system in collaboration with the NADRA.
According to officials, a technical issue in verifying fingerprints of online passport applicants has now been resolved.
According to officials, citizens can now easily verify their fingerprints using NADRA’s Pak ID app.
For cases where fingerprint verification encounters issues, a facial recognition option will also be available.
DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi said, “We are committed to introducing every possible modern facility to make services more convenient for citizens.”
The new system is expected to particularly benefit overseas Pakistanis and senior citizens, who had previously faced challenges with online fingerprint verification.
